Dimensional CalculatorTo access this calculator, you must first locate the inventory item and change its matrix to either Board Ft or Square Ft.
Once you have selected the proper matrix, the Dimensional Calculator will appear above the Weight of the item (see image below).
If you move to the field to the right of the decimal field, you’ll see where it says Bd Ft. with the number of board feet that is found in 1 stocking unit. To the right of that field, you will find the calculator. If you click on the calculator, you’ll see another screen come up that will display a material field. For Board Foot items, Dimensional or Hardwood will be used.
If you select Dimensional, the system will ask for you to enter the Thickness (in inches), Width (in inches), and Length (in feet). Once all three values are entered, click Calculate and the number of board feet per stocking unit will be displayed. Clicking Close will take you back to the Inventory screen with the newly entered information.
The BdFt button will now be accessible under Desired GP%. Clicking this will show the 1000 Board Foot Info. This is based off the dimensions you entered previously. Clicking the blank button will display the Avg Cost and Last Cost based upon the dimensions entered previously.
If you select Board Ft as the matrix and select Hardwood from the calculator, the dimensions are entered the same but the system asks for different values. These can be seen on the right of the value fields.
The other two materials (Plywood/WallBoard and Siding) are used for any item with the matrix "Square Ft" assigned to them. Similar to the steps above, you click the calculator icon to enter the values for thickness, width, and length. You can see in the images below the different values you will need to enter.
