Security Groups

Security Groups is the mechanism of limiting users access to various parts of the TransActPOS system.  Create a new group by select New and indicating the name of the group then assign access as required for the group.

Properties

The Groups | Properties tab indicates the name of the group and the users that belong to the group.
  • > adds the currently selected user to the member list
  • >> adds all users to the member list
  • < removes the currently selected user from the member list
  • << removes all users from the member list
 
 

Access

The Groups | Access tab is the key to controlling the "access" to specific TransActPOS modules and functions.  The concept is straight forward. For each of the highlighted module features, this group will have either full or no access.  The Access Level tab will control the individual access level.  Simply select from the pick list associated with the Access Level the desired level.  Proceed to each of the module features listed until all have been assigned an access level.
 
The "All Full" and "All None" provide a quick means of switching all the module features to the desired value.

Example

Turning off the Show Cost button within POS | Ring Sale | Change Price (F4)
  • Select System | User Security | Groups
  • Select the appropriate group and select the Access tab
  • Locate POS | Ring Sale | Show Cost Button (also Sales Order)  
  • Then change the Access Level to ”None”
