Return a credit to a customer

If a customer requests a payment for their current credit, the following feature will allow you to process the request.  
 
First, confirm the credit balance on the customer account.  Within the Sales Info tab of the AR | Customer File screen, the "Current Credit" will be stated for the account.  
  • If the "Current Credits" equals the "Current Balance" then the full refund would be appropriate.  
  • If the "Current Balance" amount is less than the "Current Credits", the customer owes more than the credit balance.  Submit the appropriate refund to the customer accordingly.
 
 
Further details of the customer's current aged balance can be found within the following reports.
  • AR | Customer File | Reports | Open Invoices

  • AR | Reports | Aging Reports
To refund the customer the requested amount:
  • Select "Pay Out to Customer" within AR | Customer File | Sales Info
  • Enter the into the "Amount to pay out to customer"
  • Press Enter and the select OK
 
From the Customer Pay Out screen select the type of pay out to make:
  • Cash
  • Check
  • Credit Card
  • Gift Card
 
Finalize the transaction by selecting "Yes" to print a receipt.
