Bill of Materials (BOM)

A Bill of Materials itemyThe Bill of Materials item type contains the bill of materials detail list and indicates the resulting finished good.
 
The following topics explain in detail the following:
  • the setup of the BOM item,
  • the setup of the finished good,
  • the build process
  • the reporting of the build process.
 
Within the BOM item SKU, the BOM Items button allows the user to enter the SKUs and quantities of the raw materials.

To creation of the Finished Good, select Build Item and then indicate the number of BOMs Used.  If the BOM item has the Decimal
 
Changing the BOMs Used to a different value will automatically create the Estimated Result.  The Actual result will allow for an override of the quantity which will be reflected in the on-hand of the finished good.
 
 The Average Cost is based upon the total cost of the raw materials divided by the Estimated Result quantity.
