Decimal Value Considerations Bulk Items and Partial Builds

BOM - Decimal Value

If a partial Build is a possibility, change the Decimal value within the BOM to a none zero value so a partial BOM can be built. The suggestion is to set the decimal value of the BOM  to 2.

Additionally, if the above BOM has a BULK Finished Good, make sure that the Bulk Finished Good decimal value is set to a none zero value.  The suggestion is to set the decimal value of the Finished Good to 2.

Partial BOM Examples

Using the above BOM and Finished Material SKU, create 5,000 pounds of Horse Feed in bulk by entering into the BOMs Used field 2.50.  The Estimated Result will be 2.50 Tons (5,000 pounds) of finished material.

Using the above BOM and Finished Material SKU, create 1,000 pounds of Horse Feed in bulk by entering into the BOMs Used field .50.  The Estimated Result will be .50 Tons (1,000 pounds) of finished material.

Bulk Finished Goods with a Decimal Value of Zero

Problem: If the BOM used to create the Finished Good has a Decimal value of 2 and the Bulk Finished Good has a Decimal Value of Zero, the Estimated Result will not appear correctly.
Solution: Change the Finished Good's decimal to 2 to allow the partial quantity yo be displayed correctly.
