Here we go..

1) Download and Extract the CSV file to your desktop.
2) Open Excel and start a new workbook (Do not try to open the CSV file just yet).
a) if you try to open the CSV file by double clicking on it.. you will lose the leading zeros from many of the part numbers.
b) you have to use the import wizard to retain them.
3) In Excel, go to DATA tab, Select FROM TEXT and follow the 3 Step Wizard Import.

a. Select DELIMITED FILE……

b) Select COMMA DELIMITED FILE (unselect TAB DELIMITED)…..

c) Step 3: Highlight all the Columns (Shift –click first column then scroll to far right and select the last column) (black selected below). And then Select TEXT Format from the options. Changing the rows to TEXT. Then click Finish… this will import the file into Excel and open the file, retaining the leading zeros in all columns.. and now you can modify file as needed by deleting all the columns you don’t need.. and keep Part #, Description and all the Price Fields.

4) Now you have the CSV file open in EXCEL (all Columns formatted to TEXT ).
5) Leading Zeros retained.
6) If this file is saved again as a CSV. Anyone accessing the file in the future should do the same import wizard process to open the file again..

Example HOW-TO FILTER by Column to determine a Price Change today. There are two columns to be aware of, “Ad Policy” and “Price Change Today” These are usually columns (V and W). (see below)

To add a filter to the header row of the file, click on ROW 1 and highlight the row, then go to “DATA” tab and select “Filter”.

This will allow you to see exactly which items are covered under the LeMans Ad Policy and that may have had a price change today. You can filter by Ad Policy = “Y” and filter the Price Change Column by “ U” for “UP” and “D” for “DOWN” and “N” for “NO CHANGE”.
