Sales and Use Tax
Due to the nature of the Surcharge Calculation by Verifone during the debit/credit determination step, the surcharge amount does not include applicable sales tax. So, the store MUST calculate the applicable sales tax for this additional revenue and include this on their monthly reporting to their state's revenue cabinet. This is a manual process that the tax preparer must complete.
