Taxonomy Considerations

Taxonomy Considerations

A taxonomy refers to a systematic classification system used to organize and categorize inventory items.
TransActPOS taxonomy is represented within the structure of  Class, Code, Fine, Sub-Fine, Fineline.
By default the taxonomy of an item is based on the information received from that item’s primary vendor, generally derived from the Electronic Catalog.
The store may also choose to utilize the taxonomy structure of a different Ecatalog vendor by selecting a specific "Taxonomy Source Vendor" in Company Setup > ECatalog (see image below).

This particular setup comes into play when multiple IOR vendors are present and the store desires to have a uniform taxonomy structure across all items.
