Set up TransActPOS to Calculate Cut Glass

This procedure will demonstrate how to set up cut glass, which will calculate the square inch for the sales clerk.  TransActPOS can calculate the sales price for any item sold by either area or perimeter.
1. Open IC | Inventory File | Add.   Assign a SKU ID or number for Cut Glass.
Note:  It is not critical which method you chose to use, it is critical you have a method that can be reproduced and taught.
2. The New Item Wizard  will open. In the Item Description Screen enter appropriate item ID for the Item ID and in the Description field type Cut Glass Single Strength Glass
3. Select Next
4. Select Next, in the Pricing Information Screen, Item Type pick Non-Stock.  In the Retail Price field type $.02 and select Save
5. Select Save again to close the New Item Wizard.
6. On the General Tab of the Inventory Maintenance Screen, select Edit.
7.  Check Variable Costing field. The Variable Cost % field will be displayed, enter appropriate cost percentage, i.e, 35.00.
8. In the Matrix field, pick either Glass or Frame.  (Glass for area, Frame for perimeter)
Note:  The Glass Matrix will round up to the nearest inch. The Frame Matrix will round up or down to the nearest even inch.  
9. In Labeling, uncheck Item and Bin.
10. True Value's Fineline for single strength glass is P 3201, in Class enter P, in Fine enter 32, in Subfine enter 01.
11. Select Save.  The entered information should be similar to the following.
 
12. Select Lookup By | Add, in Number enter CUT GLASS or any other appropriate lookup ID and select Short Barcode.
13. Select OK and Close.
 
When the item ID is then entered in the Ring Sale screen, TransActPOS will prompt for the appropriate dimensions of the item and calculate the correct sales price.
