Assigning Matrix of Lot Number to SKUs

 
Structuring the Item ID with a clear standardized format throughout the inventory will streamline the management of the Lot based inventory as seen within the selected SKU below.
 
All SKUs that will be utilized within the Lot Break process with need to be Item Type = Stock and Matrix = Lot Number.  It the Item Type of Stock and the Matrix Type of Lot Number is not present, edit the item to correct this issue.  Be aware that the on-hand of the selected item will need to be changed to Zero to make this change.  Once, the items type information is corrected, adjust the on-hand back to the original correct value.

Source products should be set to a Decimal value of 3

1. Source products should be set to a Decimal value of 3
Setting the Decimal value to 3 for source items will allow the system to correctly state the partial whole units that will result with the lot generation of smaller unites of measure.

If the item list is organized like the above, you can quickly move through the list editing the Matrix type by using the directional arrows at the bottom of the screen.

To change the Matrix from None to Lot Number, first select Edit and then change the Matrix value.

For Source items, change the Decimal value to 3

Source items will typically have portions of the stocking unit consumed during the transfer process so changing this value to 3 will allow proper presentation of the fractional portion of the resulting on-hand quantity.
