Only Local Pricing - MultiStore Application - Store Level Price Control

What does "Only Local Pricing" within the MultiStore application mean when it comes to retail prices?

When the "Only Local Prices" is checked within the MultiStore application, the store will not receive any price updates created at the other stores.

Note:
  • Management has selected this location as the central control point for the MultiStore environment, based on its available staffing resources.
  • Since the MultiStore application for the Main Store has the "ONLY Local Price" checked, the "Priced Locally" does not appear within on the IC > General tab screen.
 

Store 2, the "Main Store" changes a price

In the diagram below, the MultiStore application configuration located on the Store 2 on-premises server, the option of "ONLY Local Pricing" is checked.  This option protects this store from receiving any price updates that may occur at the other "Linked Stores".

Store 1 changes a price

The diagram below illustrates the impact of price changes initiated at Store 1 and the impact on Store 2 and Store 3.
 
The price change occurs at Store 1 and then is sent to the Linked Stores.
At Store 2, the price change(s) has no impact since the Store 2 Multistore has the "ONLY Local Pricing" checked.
At Store 3, the price change(s) are present within the IC > Maintenance > MultiStore Options > Price Print/Update and the retail price is changed at store 3.
