Sample Pre-printed Gift Certificates

The pre-printed gift certificate below is an example of using an existing gift certificate with the TransActPOS system.  Notice the pre-existing serial number printed on the gift certificate.  This number will not be used within the TransActPOS system of tracking gift certificates; it should be ignored.

The interior portion of the gift certificate includes "field" positions for the details.  The gift certificate form can be modified to fit the field positions of the certificate and stub.

The Gift Cards Certificate printer is a shared printer between all workstations with a single report format.  Select the appropriate shared printer and then select Modify Form to further customize the default form to fit your specific needs.  Additional workstations will be selecting the same-shared printer, so future modification of the gift card certificate will not be required.  Paper for the printer will load in a variety of different ways.  The HP200d loads paper as indicated within the attached picture.

The paper loaded in the gift certificate printer is normally a preprinted decorative certificate paper.  The default form provided within TransActPOS contains a top stub area that can be separated from the recipient’s certificate.

The sample below shows the orientation of the paper within a HP2200D laser printer.  The preprinted serial number is not a requirement of the TransActPOS system.

The system will allow manipulation of the report form to include printing to 30-mil card and barcode printers.  This flexibility will allow you to make the best decision for your specific needs.

Transaction Form Setup
Gift Cards Transaction Form printer is typically a local receipt printer selected within the Printing tab of Workstation Settings.  If selected, the transaction form will print immediately after the sales receipt has been printed.  Select the workstation’s receipt printer, modify the form for this specific printer, and then select the modified form from within the pick list.  When setting up other workstations, you may select the same form if the identical receipt printer is being used elsewhere on the network.

If setting up a Gift Card Transaction Form for the first time, you need to select Modify Form, select New, and indicate the following:

Select OK to confirm the field selections and then select Modify Form (in the Properties tab).  The Report Designer will appear with a representation of the form and field contents.  The easiest way to address the form layout would be to save this form by pressing Ctrl + W and then create a sample gift certificate and receipt for proofing.  Returning to the modification screen with the actual printed forms will make the job much easier.  Modify the forms until the required form designs are met.  Reprinting of a gift card is allowed within the gift card menu.  Continue to modify and reprint the gift card until the alignment meets your requirements.

The form creation is a straightforward process.  Once the form is opened, left click any object within the form to position or format.  If more than one printer location is required within the business, make sure that the printers are similar since the system will only allow a single printer type to be selected.
