Terminating a Layaway

Click Terminate to cancel a layaway per customer request or due to the customer's failure to pick up the layaway items.  The termination can be completed with or without the forfeiture of the deposit amount.
 
Upon clicking Terminate, you are given the option to refund the deposit or not.

Type Yes and click OK to refund the deposit.
 
Select the refund method, and complete the refund.  The layaway ticket is marked Closed - Refunded Balance.

Type Yes and click OK to forfeit the deposit.
 
The layaway ticket is marked Closed - Forfeited Balance.
 
You can give the customer a partial refund of the deposit if appropriate.  Make a negative payment for the amount of the refund you wish to retain.
 
 
The refund amount now shown is the deposit amount minus this negative payment.
