Refunding Sales Tax

If a customer was taxed incorrectly, you may have to refund them only the sales tax from an invoice. To learn how, follow the steps below.

Note: This process is very similar to the "Adjusting Sales Tax on Existing Invoices." For more in depth information, click here.

 

First, go to Ring Sale and refund the item that was incorrectly taxed or is in need of a sales tax refund. Once that item is entered, enter the same item, only this time modify the tax to non-tax. This is done by hitting F5 and selecting a non-tax type. Once this is done, the prices will offset and you will be left with the sales tax to be refunded. (See picture below)
