Bulk Feed Mill Operations Explained
A bulk feed operation manufactures truck loads of specialized feed for farmers and delivers the finished product in bulk via specialized feed trailers.
Utilizing the TransActPOS BOM inventory type, the utility addresses the needs of the feed service with the same efficiency as the bagged feed operations. The following provides some insight to the bulk feed operation for a better understanding of the process.
The bulk feed operation is located behind the retail store and bagged feed milling operation.
Bulk feed silos contain the raw materials used during the manufacturing process, much like that of the bagged feed operation but at a larger scale.
Below the raw material silos are various hammer mills that crush the corn to the desired size during the manufacturing process.
Eight individual silos hold the finished material once the manufacturing process is completed. The semi hauling the feed trailer is positioned below the eight silos for loading various customer orders.
Typically, the feed trailer contains eight compartments, allows the driver to deliver specialized feeds to the customer.
