Creating a Rental > Serialized Item

Within IC Inventory Control > File Maintenance > select New
 
Enter the desired Item ID for the rental item and the description of the item.
Select Next to continue.
Review the Unit of Measure screen for accuracy.  Typically all three units of measure a set to "EA1".
Select Next to continue.
Within the Pricing Information screen, change the following fields as follows:
On the Classification Information screen, select the appropriate field applicable to your installation.
Select Next to continue.
Typically the default values are accepted at the GL Accounting Information screen.
Select Next to continue.
Within the Notes and Picture screen, additional notes regarding the product can be added to the system with the option to print the notes on the invoice.
Select Next to continue.
At the final screen, the Save New Item screen select Save to complete the process of creating a new rental item with serialization turned on.
 
With the Serialized rental SKU created, go to How to add serialized rental items to the single SKU in this example, to understand how number of Stocked rental units are entered into the system.
 

Important Availability Terminology Note:

Available: The number of units that at available for rent at the current moment but does not indicate the upcoming schedule's impact on the availability.  Only when creating a reservation and selecting the desired rental period does the system indicate the availability of rental units to fulfill the indicted timer period.
Stocked: The total number of units owner by the organization.
