Change Price (F4)

For more information on changing an item price, see the video 01-020-120 POS: Change Price (F4).
You can manually change the price of a non-stock item without variable costing by clicking Change Price or pressing the F4 key with the item selected.  Note that even if No Discount is checked in IC | Inventory File | General Tab,  you can still manually change the price.

This displays the item number, description and MSRP.

Clicking Simple switches the view of the Change Price screen from Advanced to Simple.

This is a quick snapshot of the E-Catalog entry for this item.

This Item or All Items

4. This Item or All Items
You can choose whether to change the price of the current item or all items on the invoice.  Any items entered on the invoice after the Change Price is applied are not discounted.

No Payment Discount

This disallows any payment discount on the customer's charge account from being applied to this item.

MSRP

This is the item's manufacturer's suggested retail price.

Discount Amount

You can enter the discount as a percent off, or you can enter a new price.  If you enter a percent off, the new price automatically updates to reflect it.

TA ID

8. TA ID
This is a code for the item's cost to help you ensure the item is not discounted below cost in the case that the cost should not be displayed on the screen.  The cost is read from right to left, with letters separating dollars and cents.  For the item shown, the code is 03HD5, which translates to $5.30.

Show/Hide Cost

This displays the item cost to help you ensure the item is not discounted below cost.  The Show Cost button switches to Hide Cost to toggle the cost display off.

When an item price is changed using this function, the source in the Item listing changes to MDS for merchandise discount sale.

Note that if you return to Change Price and enter another percent off discount, this does not revise a previously applied percent off discount but rather applies an additional discount.
