Importing a list of items into a Promotion

1. Click IC | Reports and click on Item Listing
2. Enter the filter options of items you wish to put on sale
3. Click Generate and click To File
4. Select Data and then Raw Data
5. Change the Save as type to .xls and save the file where you will remember it (you can rename the file)
6. Click OK on the Data Export Field Selection window
7. Find the file on your computer and double-click it to open it in Excel
8. Find the column yunitprice (this is the retail price)
9. Click the column header (A, B, C, etc) to highlight all values in this column
10. Right click the highlighted values in the column and click Copy (or press Ctrl + C on the keyboard)
11. Right click in an empty column and click Paste (or press Ctrl + V on the keyboard)
12. Left click in column yunitprice (from steps 8 and 9), row 2
13. In the fx field above the spreadsheet, enter the following formula according to your sale (=Round(+[Column]2*[Percentage],2)
(the bracketed fields are depending on your spreadsheet; [Column] is the letter of the empty column in step 11 and [Percentage] is the percentage off of retail. A 15% off would be 0.85, 20% would be 0.8, 25% would be 0.75, etc)
14. Right click the field from step 12/13 and click Copy once again
15. Left click in the same field as step 12 and hold the left click down while scrolling down the column till you reach the end of your data
16. Right click the highlighted area from step 15 and click Paste; this will apply the formula from step 13 to the rest of the prices
17. Save this spreadsheet (if a message asks to overwrite with the newest version of Excel, say No); again remember where you saved it
18. Click on POS | File Maintenance and go to Promotions and click New
19. Click on the Import Items button and find the Excel file on your system and click Open
20. Select Import File
21. Finish creating the promotion by entering a Promo ID, Description, and Begin/Ending Date
22. Make sure Promo Price Active is checked if it is an active promotion
