Accepting a Credit Card with No Internet Connection
If your store is without internet temporarily, you are still able to accept Credit Cards with Store and Forward (SAF) service through Verifone.
This service will allow you to accept all purchases under a certain amount, this amount is either $15 or $25 per transaction, and $500 dollars daily without voice authorization, depending on the configuration. Anything over those amounts you would need to contact your card processor for authorization.
Call this number: _______________________________________________________________
If the purchase is over the amount that you can accept without authorization or you are over the daily amount you will receive a Red Stop Sign on your screen to let you know that you need to call for voice approval.
The Customer side will display an error message when you receive the stop sign.
Click the OK on the bottom of the Stop Sign screen, you will get another screen for credit card payment. When you see this screen you will see different options for your credit card. To input the voice Authorization number, you will need to click where it says Voice.
Once you have clicked voice, you will be given a prompt with the phone number for your processor that was setup under Company setup->Payment Types to call for authorization.
It will then ask you to reenter the same Authorization number.
You will then see the same screen that you clicked Voice on, notice that now it is grayed out and you can see your authorization number.
From here you will need to click Swipe, and then have the customer swipe their card again. This will allow them to sign the signature pad as normal.
At this point your transaction is complete. And your customers invoice will print. On the invoice it will say that it is a SAF.
