Why using Stock Serialized Rental items makes sense...

A Serialized Rental item addresses unit-specific issues related to the availability of identical rental units, providing a clear understanding of the 'Total Available Now' units as shown in the diagrams below.

Non-serialized rental item reservations

The Non-Serialized Rental configuration should be used for single, unique rental items. TransActPOS will track the availability of this single rental item:

Serialized rental item reservations

Serialized Rental Items should be used for rental equipment when multiple identical units are available. This approach allows one of the rental units to be scheduled for a future rental, as the serialized schedule tracks the total number of available units within the TransActPOS Rental Schedule.

The Total Available Now is determined by the current rental reservations, the Service Ticket repair awareness and the total number of serialized rental units.
When a customer arrives to pick up a concrete trailer, a list of currently available serial numbers is presented, enabling the user to select a specific unit for the customer. If the assigned unit develops a problem, the customer's contract can be transferred to a different serialized concrete trailer. The problematic trailer is then assigned to a service ticket, effectively removing it from the current inventory.
