Recalc Order Mins

Establishing a minimum reorder point for an item can be an arduous task to say the least.  The Recalc Order Mins can help forecast the best value to utilize based upon the average of up to ten calculations.  This utility allows you to define the parameters for calculation.  All calculations and minimums are for weekly sales based on a four week month.  Click the Generate button to perform the entered item calculations.  (ALT + X will abort the minimum calculations.)

Basic Screen

Enter a whole or partial item ID and/or Class as appropriate. The date entered on the "Entered" field will display items entered before this date.  Blanks will consider all items in inventory.

Seasonal Items

Seasonal items can be Excluded or Included with All the seasons included or a Selected one only.  Seasons are defined in IC | Support Files | Seasons.

Usage

The item minimum is based on the calculated weekly sales for the total of weeks entered.  If the calculated weekly sales is 10 and the Usage is for two weeks, the minimum will then be set to 20.

Safety

The Safety weeks are added to Usage weeks.  If the calculated weekly sales is 10 and the Usage is for two weeks and the Safety is for one week, the minimum will then be set to 30. This option is used as a buffer, to ensure you have plenty of any given item at any given time.

Minimum Recalc One Unit

Regardless of the weekly calculated minimum, the minimum will be set to at least one.  Any partial calculated sale will also set the minimum to One.

Risk Level

The number of standard deviations used in the calculation of the weekly sales can be increased or decreased by selecting a different Risk level.  The standard deviation is changed by half a deviation for the Higher or Lower options and by a whole deviation for the Highest and Lowest options.

Primary Vendor

Only items from the selected vendor will be recalculated.

Limit to Item Qty Changes

Only items that have had sales, issues, or physical adjustments for the time specified will be recalculated.

Specific Risk Levels

The Risk levels can be set to different levels for the different Inventory Ranking Percents that are set in System | Company Setup | POS Information 3.

Weight for Current Month

If the Weight for Current Month is zero, the current month is not used in the calculations.  If it is one, it will be used as a whole month.  Any other values weigh the value of the current month accordingly.

Calculation Definitions

Select one or more of the calculation types.  If more than one is selected, the average of those selected will be used as the minimum.  Please see the Theory Behind Forecasting Reorder Quantities in TransActPOS help file for more detailed information on how each calculation is done.
#4 - Wt Average Past 3 Months (5/3/1)
#10 - User Defined Weighted Average

If the User Defined box is checked, the entered weighted values for the months listed will be used in the recalculations.

Reorder Calculation Analysis

The Reorder Calculation Analysis report will then be displayed.  The sales history and calculations are displayed for each selected item in the report. The report can be restricted to types of items by selecting one Filter option and applying the filter.  The UIR (User Interaction Request) is a flag set by TransActPOS to indicate that the item's calculations are not in normal range and the calculated minimum should be reviewed.

The Set Change button allows the user to check or uncheck all the calculated minimums in the report.

If the Apply button is checked, a Confirmation screen will be displayed before all of the selected recalculated minimums are changed in the Inventory File.
