Set-Up a Percent Off Sale

Note: Microsoft© Excel© is required for using this procedure.  The user needs to be proficient at using Microsoft© Excel© before proceeding.  All spreadsheets must be saved in Excel 5.0 format or pre-1995 file format.  Use the Save As option in Excel to save the file and select the Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook (*.xls) as the Save as type extension for the data file.

Step 1

1. Go to item listing report in IC | Reports | Item Listing
2. Generate an item listing using the available filters to create the desired item list.
 
Tip:  The code "D" is set to mean "Discontinued" or "To Be Discontinued" item.  See Code
3. Select To File
4. From Export Type | Raw Data
5. From the Save As | Export Data To window name the file (in this example AutoDel).  In the Save as Type: select xls from the pull down list.
 

Step 2

Note:  The Formatting of the file structure and file type remain the same or user will not be able to Import back into TransActPOS (File type Microsoft© Excel© 5.0/95 Workbook (*.xls)
1. Load Microsoft© Excel© and Open the File created in Step 1
In this example, a 40% off or a .60 multiplier will be used
2. Column N or ylist is the retail price
3. Put the cursor in O2, enter a + sign, right arrow (this will fill in N2 into your formula), select the asterisk * and .60 (+N2*.60)
4. Drag this formula though out the data in Column O to change yunitprice to 40% off ylist
5. Format  column O  to a currency and 2 decimal places.

Step 3

Create a new promotions by going to POS | File Maintenance | Promotions | New
1. Promo ID (Auto Del)
2. Select Promo Prices Active (if you want to activate the sale)
3. Description ( Automotive to be Discontinued Sale)
4. Begin date (Today), add an Ending date
5. Select the Import Items button
6. Import to Item Sale File window appears, In the Import File Name, find the path to the file created in Step 1 and changed in Step 2
7. Select Import File Button. When complete, an Import Completed window appears.
8. Select OK
9. Add, Edit, or Delete items if necessary.
