Work Area

The Work Area feature allows the store to group workstations together for reporting purposes. e.g.  "Hardware" workstations versus the "Convenient" store workstations sales. 
 
Work Area
 
The following reports currently have the Work Area filter option:
The Work Area indicated workstation is assigned to the TransActPOS "tashft" table when a shift is started.
If the Work Area is assigned while the sift is open, the expected Work Area will not be present. 
 
To begin using the Work Area feature:
1) Close the current shift
2) Go to System > Workstation > Work Area and enter the single character value that will designate the "Hardware" workstations versus the "Convenient" store workstations.
3) Begin the shift as normal.
4) The above three reports will then allow the user to filter to a specific "Work Area" to report the "Hardware" workstations versus the "Convenient" store workstations.
 

General Ledger options

General Ledger integration is not a requirement for the Work Area option. The Work Area option can add a departmentalization affect within the General Ledger release by adding a second segment automatically to the assigned general ledger account.
